My name is Maarten van der Beek. I was born in Delft, the Netherlands, the place where I still live and studied Computer Science at Delft University of Technology. Welcome to my website, be sure to check out my portfolio while you're here.

I have studied Computer Science-student at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). I have a BSc in Computer Science (with a minor in Economics, Law and Management) a MSc in Information Architecture, which is a mix of Computer Science, Information Management and Business.
During my student life in Delft I've had the privilege of becoming the chairman of the Study Association "Christiaan Huygens". This Study Association for Computer Science and Applied Mathematics students is very active and organises a lot of both study and nonstudy related activities for their members.
As part of my BSc thesis, I studied abroad for three months in Manila, Philippines. There, together with two other students, I developed a Learning Management System for the International Institute of Human Capital.
For my MSc thesis, I've developed a meta-model and support tool for the costs related to Master Data Management (MDM) at KPMG Advisory in Amstelveen.
Work
During my study I've been doing some part-time web developing for Delft University of Technology and several companies in the Delft region.
Furthermore I've been part of Team Robin from September 2008 to April 2012. Team Robin is a team of students who provide admission information about Delft University of Technology to High School students. They provide workshops, information days and presentations for schools all over The Netherlands.

Sports
I play water polo and practice speed swimming at Swim- and Waterpoloassociation d'ELFT. In 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012 I made it to the National Sprint Championships on the 4x50m freestyle and the 4x50 medley relay with 3 other teammates from d'ELFT.
